Ouch! That’s the word that comes out first whenever we get a blister, right guys?

Blisters are real painful!

And you are sure to get them with your brand new steel toe boots sooner or later.

Thank Jesus there are ways out to prevent those horrendous blisters from occurring. And today in this article I am going to tell you all about how to prevent blisters from steel toe boots just by following some easy tricks.

Why wait? Let’s get started.

6 Ways to Prevent Blisters from Steel Toe Boots

1.) Start by Breaking in Your New Boots First

How to Break-in Boots

Boots that are not broken-in are more likely to cause blisters as they are hard and have not fitted to the shape of your feet properly. So, just don’t go out in your boots before they are broken in. Breaking in new boots isn’t any hard task if you know the exact processes check out the guide on How to break in new work boots.

2.) Precaution is Better than Cure

Band-Aid Brand Adhesive Bandages, Tough-Strips, Extra Large (1.75-Inch Wide), 10-Count Bandages (Pack of 6)

If blistering is an issue for you, you might have to plan things at the earliest. Try using a band aid in the part of your feet where you tend to get more blisters before putting in your feet inside the new boots. This will protect the part from getting rubbed against the steel toes and thus prevent blisters.

In a detailed study I found a great advice from a famous beauty writer Alle Connell of Xovain who wrote:

“Not all BAND AIDS are created equal, and they don’t all work on feet, which move a lot and get sweaty. The best BAND-AIDS for feet are the Band-Aid brand Tough Strips. Not the waterproof ones-just the regular fabric kind. They aren’t cute, but they work brilliantly, and they come in a bunch of useful sizes. Go with a hardcore adhesive, and your feet will be safe.”

3.) How about Stretching out the Boots?

Boots cause you blisters because they are fitted too to your feet and your feet don’t have any room to adjust in it. Here is when a boot stretcher would come to your rescue! Yes, when you stretch your boots with a boot stretcher, it will tend to get a bit larger so that your feet gets the desired the space inside comfortably.

4.) Try wearing thick heated socks with your boots during the break-in period

thick heated socks

In the words of Augusta Falletta at StyleCaster:

“The heat will help to warm up the shoes and break them in a bit, and walking around with the socks will prevent your feet from getting blisters.”

Obviously we are not asking you to wear heated socks to your work. You can try the trick by wearing them at home for a walk in your garden.

5.) Try using Dr. Scholl’s Blister Defense:

This is in fact the best way to prevent blisters which will give you 100% result. This is a medicated product to prevent blisters which works by keeping the blister-prone spots dry and your feet pain free. Just apply them in the areas where you tend to get blisters before wearing your boots.
