With the Australian Government easing the process to begin a free government-funded programme in early childhood at Skilled Up, there has never been an excellent opportunity to start a fulfilling career in early childhood teaching. In order to observe the results of free government courses in practice and to meet former Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care graduates and other childcare professionals, the Minister for Training, Skills, and Higher Education traveled to the Port Fairy Community Services Centre.

In addition to various other courses, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is among the free government-funded courses available to qualified Australian students throughout the state.

There are many employment prospects for people wishing to study or retrain in the field of early childhood education, as they are among the most in-demand employees in the state.

Many students have finished an Early Childhood Education course at Skilled Up since it was added to the list of free government courses in 2020.

The labour market for the Labor Government's $5 billion Three-Year-Old Kindergarten transformation and the $9 billion Best Start, Best Life early childhood education improvements is being supplied partly by Victoria's TAFE system.

With the help of Best Start Best Life, preschool will be free starting in 2023. Additionally, 50 government-owned, reasonably priced child care facilities will be built, and by 2032, all four-year-old kids in Victoria will have access to a 30-hour-per-week play-based learning programme.

In a Free TAFE Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care degree since 2020, more than 5,800 individuals have registered.

More than 115,000 individuals have benefitted immensely from Free TAFE since it was implemented by the Labor Government in 2019, conserving more than $281 million in tuition fees.

Free TAFE demonstrates how strategic training investments may serve the local people in South Western Victoria's unique labour market demands and open up long-term employment options for residents, as stated by Gayle Tierney, the Minister for Training and Skills.

According to South West TAFE CEO Mark Fidge, there are many fantastic career prospects in Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and this government is making it simpler than ever for individuals to obtain them through excellent quality, fee-free training.
