On February 23, the fire accident in Building 6, Mingshang Xiyuan, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing, affected the hearts of hundreds of millions of people. In the early morning of the 24th, Nanjing City held a press conference to inform about the "2·23" fire accident in Yuhuatai District, Nanjing City. The report stated that as of 24:00 on the 23rd, a total of 15 people were killed in the fire accident, and 44 people were treated in the hospital. Among them, 1 was in critical condition, 1 was in severe condition, and 42 were in minor injuries. All patients' vital signs were stable.

What happened is this. At about 4:30 in the morning on February 23, a fire broke out in a unit of Building 6, Mingshang Xiyuan, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing City. After the fire broke out, the surrounding people immediately called the police and the local emergency management department responded. After receiving the news, immediately activate the emergency response plan. Subsequently, the Nanjing Fire Rescue Detachment dispatched more than 20 fire trucks to the scene for disposal. According to official information disclosed on the morning of the 23rd, the fire was put out at about 6 o'clock that morning.

In addition to illegal parking of electric bicycles, the fire resistance of the insulation materials of building exterior walls is also closely related to the spread of fire.

It is a good thing to lay insulation materials on the exterior walls of buildings. It can keep heat in winter and insulate in summer, but fire safety cannot be ignored. Current insulation materials are divided into four grades: Class A (non-combustible), Class B1 (flammable), Class B2 (combustible) and Class B3 (flammable). Our country's "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings" has strict requirements for the use of materials. So what are the commonly used building insulation materials?

1. Polystyrene board: It has good thermal insulation performance, low price, and simple and convenient construction. Disadvantages: Poor fire resistance, generally B2. Several fire accidents in China are related to the substandard fire resistance of exterior wall insulation materials.

2. Rock wool board: The main raw material is natural rock, so it has strong high temperature resistance. The thermal conductivity is very low and has good thermal insulation properties. The disadvantage is that the low surface strength causes the decorative surface to be uneven, which is particularly obvious under sunlight. At the same time, rock wool boards are particularly unfriendly to construction workers, and rock wool fibers make the skin itchy. The heavy weight of rock wool boards and poor construction techniques can easily cause the external insulation wall to fall off, causing safety accidents.

3. Melamine foam: Melamine foam is made of melamine foamed by microwave. Melamine itself is a flame retardant material with a nitrogen content of up to 70%. Therefore, melamine foam can achieve excellent flame retardant properties without adding any flame retardants. The surface only starts to burn when in contact with an open flame. It decomposes immediately after burning to produce a large amount of inert, non-flammable gas, nitrogen, which isolates oxygen and slows down the burning rate. At the same time, a dense coke layer is quickly formed on the surface of the combustion body to effectively prevent the combustion from developing to the deeper layers. The open flame will automatically extinguish after it leaves, that is, it will be extinguished immediately after leaving the fire.

Without the addition of flame retardants, melamine foam can meet the B1 low flammability material standard stipulated in Germany's DIN4102 and the American Insurance Institute's UL 94-V-0 high flame retardant material standard, and has passed the EU BS6853 and NFF16-101 , DIN5510 fire protection certification, and also complies with my country's GBIT8624-2006 B1 level flame retardant standard.

Melamine foam is a three-dimensional lattice structure system with sufficient openings, the length-to-diameter ratio (L/D) of its lattice is in the range of 10-20, and the density of 8.5KG/M3 melamine foam has a high open-cell ratio of more than 99%. The fine three-dimensional grid structure makes the air convection heat transfer effectively prevented, coupled with the unique low thermal stability, so that it has a good thermal insulation and heat preservation effect (thermal conductivity, 0.035 W / (m * K))), become difficult to replace the lightweight thermal insulation materials.

Overall, melamine foam is the best choice for exterior wall insulation.

For construction units and management units, doing the following can effectively prevent fires:

1. Strictly implement the fire safety management responsibilities of construction units and construction units, and clarify fire management responsibilities and management personnel. The fire protection facilities of buildings that have been put into use must be properly maintained.

2. It is prohibited to use flammable and combustible materials as external insulation materials for the exterior walls of high-rise civil buildings. For high-rise civil buildings that use flame-retardant exterior wall insulation materials or use exterior wall insulation systems with cavities between the base wall and decorative layer, it is prohibited to use fire or electricity on their exterior walls.

3. For high-rise civil buildings equipped with external wall insulation systems, the management unit shall set up reminder and warning signs at the main entrance and surrounding relevant prominent locations to indicate the combustion performance and fire protection requirements of the external wall insulation materials.

4. If the external insulation system of the exterior wall of a high-rise civil building is damaged, cracked or falls off, it should be repaired in time. When constructing the external wall insulation system of high-rise civil buildings, the construction unit shall take necessary measures to prevent fire isolation and restrict occupants and use to ensure the safety of personnel in the building.

5.It is strictly prohibited to set up billboards, light boxes and other high-temperature electrical equipment on the outer walls of the insulation layer made of flammable and combustible materials. It is strictly forbidden to pile up flammable and combustible items around the building, and forbidden to set up electric vehicle charging piles close to the building.
