In exciting news, Simene’ Walden, a dedicated educator fondly known as "The Student Teacher," was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday April 20, 2024, in Miami, Florida. This prestigious recognition celebrates her significant contributions to education and her commitment to integrating faith into her teachings.

Simene’ is a native of Conway, North Carolina but currently resides in Brentwood, Maryland. Simene’ has served and worked in education since graduating from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 2004. Simene’ obtained her Master of Arts in Christian Studies, focusing on Youth Ministry from Grand Canyon University in October 2014.

Ms. Walden has built a career marked by over eighteen years of dedicated service, during which she has been an advocate for youth empowerment. She is a Professional Speaker, Best-Selling Author, Writer, and Spoken Word Artist. Her notable release, the prayer single "Exalted," was produced by Todd Dulaney under DulanyLand Music in February 2022.

Currently, Ms. Walden is leading the "Pretty Healed & Handsomely Whole" school tour, which focuses on Social Emotional Learning with an Emphasis on Building Healthy Relationships Among Students, Staff, Families, and Communities, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports, & Trauma-Informed Care & Instruction.

Thanks to her efforts and partnerships, over 50,000 students and educators are being spiritually covered by those who believe in the vision of Simene’. Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, “The Student Teacher” aims to extend her impact to 500,000 individuals, urging families to adopt schools and support them through prayer.

“When I received the final approval that I would be a recipient, I cried. I was actually participating in a Professional Development at work when I received the news that morning. During my break, I went into the classroom and cried. Immediately afterwards, I called my mom and told her. I have been overwhelmed with so many emotions since then but tears of joy have been a regular expression, exclaims, Simene’. It still seems surreal but I have learned that your work and efforts will speak for you and what one person may
deem insignificant, another group of people deems worthy and highly significant.”
