Silafrica launched two models to the global audience at the Reinvent the Toilet Fair held in India by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Medium Toilet Slab is a low cost installation to be fitted on top a new pit, nailed or screwed onto a supporting scaffolding structure above the pit. The Small Toilet Slab is an even lower cost installation designed to upgrade an existing pit toilet by levelling the existing mud/wood slab and fixing the AIM Toilet Slab on top.

The AIM Toilet Slabs are recyclable, available in many colours, significantly reduce foul odours, trap flies in the pit to reduce spread of disease, easy to clean & use, easy to install & relocate to another pit as needed, solid surface that compares with concrete, and can last over a decade with basic care & cleanliness. One has to use it to believe how revolutionary is the design of this toilet slab.

Silafrica's AIM Toilet Slabs will be available from April 2014 locally manufactured in Kenya, and easily exported within the region and globally thanks to the freight efficient compact design.
