FC Barcelona has been paired with English Giants Tottenham Hotspur, Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and Italian Giants Football Club Internazionale Milano in Group B of UEFA Champions League 2018-19 season. For Barcelona this European Campaign would be of paramount important, especially for their manager - I have written earlier about this - It will be all about UEFA Champions League this Season for Barca!. This one of the toughest groups in the Group stage and that means Barca will have enough challenges to fine tune them for the long run. Every Barca fans focus will be on how we perform in each of these away matches; which has been our downfall in last few seasons.FC Barcelona blog
From a schedule point of view, we have the toughest road to qualification and Totenham has the easier way. We will open our campaign against PSV at Camp Nou on the 18th of september. Despite their history PSV should be an easier opponent for Barca to see off. Then we travel to Tottenham in the second round. Then we have back to back matches against Inter Milan whereas Tottenham will be facing PSV at that stage. That means for Barca the first two matches literally became a must win situation.
Even though Group B is tough, the toughest have to be Group C where we have PSG, Napoli and Liverpool fighting for the two spot. That definitely is the 'Group of Death'. The other group looks pretty straight forward as of now; you never know how things will change in the end. And that's the beauty of Football.FC Barcelona football blog
FC Barcelona continued with their pursuit of defending La Liga title with a not so impressive victory against Real Valladoid in their first away game of the season. The match was definitely over shadowed by the state of the pitch, which resembled a farm land rather than an European Standard Football pitch. The state of pitch wasn't the only concern; the attitude of the players was quite disappointing and it also raises the big question whether we have improved from last season's weakness.barcelona football blog
Last season also, the state of affairs was similar with we putting up a great show when the equations were in our favour and struggling against odds - whether it's pitch, or compact defending! It's too early in the season to actually start worrying; but it's an indication that Valverde needs to get his act together.
FC Barcelona started their La Liga title defense in style with a promising 3-0 victory against Alaves. Lionel Messi scored twice and Coutinho once to give Barca a comfortable victory. Messi's opener of the game was incidentally Barca's 6000 goal.fc barcelona news
And it ended, may be in a spectacular fashion than everyone anticipated. Lionel Messi bowed out of yet another World Cup with more questions than answers! Despite this Argentina being one of the most horrible teams, everyone agrees that they putup quite a show before they bowed out. The fans would have some consolation that they went out to a better team and their team performed better than their abilities suggest.fc barcelona latest news
An entire nation, their fans across the World and the Players all breathing a sigh of relief after Argentina pulled out a late victory to prevent getting eliminated from FIFA World Cup 2018. It took a late goal from an unlikely candidate, Marcos Rojo and like many pundits pointed out with a strike from his weaker foot; to take Argentina through. Lionel Messi earlier put Argentina in the lead in first half; but a second half penalty given away by Mascherano tied thetally for Nigeria.FC Barcelona gif
This World Cup from the start has surprised many with the kind of quality which has been put up in display. Usually, going by the last three world cup trends; the Group stage usually is pretty non-exciting. There could be some upset result here and there but most of matches would have gone by the script.
This edition was different in this behaviour. Ususally the first round matches of Group stage would see a lot of Mourinho like approach. But not in this World cup; there have been very few stale matches in the first two rounds.

HHope has returned to Argentina; not only to the players but to a whole nation and to the fans across the World. A nation which was shattered last night; courtesy of three killer goals from Croatia; may have regained hope, at least a slimmer of!
For Lionel Messi, who cut a totally dejected figure last night; now there is hope. By his standard it can be done; but the big question is whether he be able to find his standard in Russia. The Lionel Messi of Barcelona has been always different from the Messi of Argentina. But the way Messi got them qualified, felt like we may see the Barca Messi in Russia. But so far, nothing has changed!jersey FC Barcelona 2009
Once again the whole attention of another World Cup is majorly focussed on one Man, Lionel Messi; or at least for those who support Lionel Messi and Argentina. Many builds it as Lionel Messi's last chance to secure a World Cup and end the debate of the "Greatest of All Time" once and forever. Some claim it would be his last tournament but I think people are going over board. Unless something untowards happens; you would all see Lionel Messi in the Doha World Cup 2022 and may be even in the World Cup of 2026 even at the age of 38.
