That's just in the last year!

These lists tell you a great deal about how excellent things are in Austin. While we are creating jobs and welcoming businesses (#1 for jobs and places to start a business), we are also protecting our natural environment (best city for urban forests). And it's a great place for everyone (#2 for young adults and #5 to retire).

In truth, those lists don't mention the best part of living in Austin: the people! Texans are famous for their hospitality and friendliness – and the folks of Austin are the embodiment of Texas.

There might not be a way to measure the kindness of the residents, but in Austin, even though we are a city, we pride ourselves on still having the feel of a small town.
