Gurgaon, 23rd November 2015: Amid huge enthusiasm and excitement, Lancers International School today inaugurated the opening match of the 3rd Annual LIS Soccer Cup Tournament. The tournament commenced today and will continue for the entire week. Lancers International School has been organizing various interschool events thus creating a competitive and collaborative environment for schools in the national capital region.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament from top schools of Delhi and Gurgaon. Teams from Embassy of Russian Federation, GD Goenka World School and Amity International School are a few to mention among other prominent academic institutions. The soccer tournament is a crucial initiative taken by Lancers International School to drive sportsmanship and ardor towards sports among school students in the national capital region. Bringing these schools together, Lancers International School is successful to substantiate a platform for students to showcase their talents at football.

The matches begin at 8 am in the morning and the last match ends by 4 pm in the evening. Six matches will be played every day during the league stage which will end on Thursday, while the knock out stage matches will be played on Friday and Saturday. The final will be played on Monday, the 30th November, 2015. The winning team will take home the rolling trophy which has been won by Scottish High and The Heritage in the year 2013 and 2014 respectively.
