Last week, attorneys from Kalikhman & Rayz, LLC and Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP, a leading national class action firm headquartered in New York, filed a class action against “Chickie's and Pete's” chain of restaurants for unlawfully skimming tips from their employees.

As detailed in the complaint, the “Chickie's and Pete's” staff were required to make daily cash contributions from their gross sale charges to the owners – an unlawful practice that violates the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. § 201 et seq., and the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act, 43 Pa.C.S. § 333.101 et seq.
