Many businesses in London are considering relocating their offices in the first half of this year. Doherty Baines analysed the information by Valuation Office Agency set on the date about business floor space. This data sheet contains data on office floor space from 2000-01 to 2015-16 amongst other things.

Since Central London is the epicentre for finance and business, it is no surprise that regardless of the premium cost, it is the most sought-after office address. With a whooping total floor space of 21,092,000 sq. meters, office space inside London accounts for nearly one quarter (23.68%) of the entire office floor space in England and Wales (89,037,000 square meters).

There have also been reports of an increasing number of businesses relocating their offices to the less expensive location than London, however, office space within London has been steadily growing over the last decade.

From the year 2006-07 to 2015-16, there has been a growth of office floor space by 8.53 % or 1,801,000 square metres.
