Has there ever been a better humor compared to Fawlty Towers? As for me, I really don't think so. Blackadder runs it very, very close, having only been let down by its weird original series. And Alan Partridge will probably stay a classic in my own eyes, too. But for out-and-out timelessness, colorful writing and the dearth of one lousy incident, Fawlty Towers gets my nod. I am sure plenty available could agree.

It's first ever incident is known as 'A Touch of Class', in which Basil tries to attract an even far more desired guest into his Torquay hotel. Therefore each time a Lord Melbury checks-in, Basil naively starts to think that his establishment has turned a societal corner, just like just one day it surely could be some sort luxury escape for the landed gentry. Needless to say, there's more probability of having a ham sandwich made from Manuel.

Oahu is the little if Basil takes 2 bricks out of 'Lord Melbury's' briefcase. There is a look of bewilderment because he first shakes one by his ear, then sniffs the other, before tapping them both together. With his "No riff raff" policy having crashed around him, Basil's now faced with the dawning realisation that he is been well and truly tricked by a con man. You couldn't help but believe for poor elderly Basil - everything he ever wanted was to enhance the calibre of his acquaintances using a Lord or two.

Fast forward several years and you don't have to be described as a fraudster to become a lord or lady. In doing so, you'll technically become a Lord or Lady of Kincavel.

And although the entire thing could sound rather fanciful, all the records are drawn up by a Scottish lawyer.
