Cleaning makeup brushes

Makeup brushes gather in time dust, bacteria, dirt, and other residues. Using them when they are like this does not do you any good. On the contrary, it could harm your skin, eyes, lips, and cause you serious problems.

It is totally unhygienic to use makeup brushes day after day without cleaning them on a regular basis. Most likely you give your towels to washing after each use, so why should you not do the same with your brushes for makeup? Not only are brushes full of dirt that has to be eliminated, but they may be used for applying creams that have different colors, so they definitely need to be cleaned.

In order to get rid of the dirt collected between the bristles of your makeup brushes, try to impose yourself a certain discipline; establish that after each makeup session to clean your products. If you do not do it then, you will never do it again. And even if you do, your brushes will allow bacteria to develop successfully and you will have problems in eliminating the dirt properly.

So clean your brushes after each use, to be certain they will help you look good, not provide you with the contrary. The first thing in cleaning brushes for makeup is to allow warm water to run through the hairs or bristles of the brushes. Then, you need to use a brush cleaner or a regular shampoo, if you do not have a specific liquid solution for brushes, and gently rub them under the flow of tap water.

When the cleaner or shampoo has worked its magic, it is time to eliminate all that excess solution. Rinse the hairs of the brush and let it dry naturally. Do not let the brush in a cup filled with water, because the water itself contains bacteria, and leaving the brush in water for too long could be in fact wrong, not good for getting rid of the dirt there. Also, do not use artificial methods for drying the brushes, because electric dryers could be, in their turn, dirty, and in addition, they consume power.

How much you will leave the brush under running water depends on the dirt gathered between the bristles of the brush. A very dirty brush needs about several minutes under the flow of tap water, while a brush that is cleaned on a regular basis, after each use, needs only several seconds. The rule is simple: take the brush out of the water running from the tap when you see that it is no longer dirty.

These are tips that any girl or woman could use. For more tricks, ask your own cosmetician. She can recommend you world renowed cosmetic solutions based on her work experience and overall knowledge. Also, it would not hurt to discuss this matter with a dermatologist too; after all, dermatologists take care of our skin and should be able to give us useful advice on how to protect our skin, and how to sanitize the cosmetic tools we use to make ourselves more beautiful.
