Did you meet such problem that when I set up the computer, it gave me the option of inserting a flash drive and giving it the power of resetting the password of any account on the computer. So I inserted the flash drive into the computer and the password reset wizard came up. I put in the new password and password hint and clicked next.

But an error screen came up that said something along the lines of there was an error resetting the password. There is a way for windows 8 to boot a windows cd to the command prompt and enable the administrator account and reset a password. This involves devious methods. windows 8 may not work that way, password reset scripts using net commands may be forbidden.

Method 1: Check this method to reset your Windows 8 password:

1.Press Windows + X to open the Power User Tasks Menus and then open Control Panel. 
2. Click on “User Accounts” and “Manage another account” 
If you are prompted by User Account Control, click “Yes” to go on. 
3. Click on a password protected local user account, which you want to reset password in Windows 8.1. And click “Change the password”. 
4. Type in a new password twice to reset new one for user account. Or you can leave all password and password hint field blank. 
After these complete successfully, you have reset forgotten Windows 8.1 password or removed lost Windows 8.1 login password.

Method 2: Reset Windows 8 Password with iSeePassword Windows Password Recovery
