This question was brought up and some answers were found during the recent Indian Wine Awards 2018 by Sonal Holland MW, India’s most highly qualified wine expert. During the judging, a separate section of wines were tasted blind along with 9 iconic Indian dishes, from Goan prawn curry to paneer khurchan.
The results of this strictly regulated judging competition, run according to the highest world standards, threw up some surprises.
