On behalf of all the Claim Management Companies, “We Fight Any Claim” firm took an initiative to apply for a judicial review on the deadline that was imposed on the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) claims. However, the judicial review was unsuccessful even for the second time.
The FCA imposed a deadline (August 29, 2019) on the mis-sold PPI reclaim for the people in the UK. It was after the deadline was imposed that the FCA faced legal challenges from the claim management companies. As we already know, PPI is designed to cover loan or credit card repayment in case the user meets with an accident, becomes sick, unemployed or is dead. However, this policy was mis-sold by the banks and the lender to the people on a large scale.
Many claim companies believe that imposition of the deadline is a mistake and thus they requested for a judicial review. A judicial review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness of a decision or activity made by a public body. Being concerned with the time limit imposed, claim companies suggested that the FCA should write to all the people regarding the deadline being imposed.
FCA on this says that, there were 64 million policies that were mis-sold but that is much lower than the actual number of policies that have been mis-sold. Many people have still not claimed, whereas many of them were sold the policy which they knew nothing about. Eventually, these people will never have a chance to make a successful claim. The FCA further stated that the decision made by the court of appeal is final and cannot be further reviewed or appealed.
But if you discover that you were mis-sold the PPI policy and you wish to seek guidance, PPI.co.uk is a firm that might be of some help. They offer various services to the people who were victims of this scandal. You can learn more regarding them from their website http://www.ppi.co.uk/
