Sunny San Diego: one of the major cities in California, and no doubt one of the most beautiful. This birthplace of California receives a lot of praise, and for good reason! A great place to live, or even just to visit, this city offers.

 
1. Weather

This reason is a given. Everyone who doesn’t live in San Diego has heard about its impeccable weather, and the best part is that it turns out to be incredibly true. There’s a good chance that it is always 70 degrees and sunny in this city, whether it's winter, summer, fall or spring. This also means that it’s practically always beautiful and comfortable outside, regardless of what time of the year or time of day!

2. Beer

Being number 3 on the Forbes Best Beer Cities list, nearly every bar in San Diego carries a selection of local brews such as Stone, Coronado Brewing Co, Mission, or Karl Straus. This city certainly knows its way around a tasty IPA! San Diego also holds the Festival of Beer in September bestapartmentmarketing, which donates money to cancer-fighting causes. Home to almost 100 breweries, San Diego has been called “The Craft Beer Capital of America.”

3. Beaches

This is also a fan favorite! The beaches in San Diego are ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world! Not only are the beaches all enjoyable but there’s one for each flavor. From Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, and Windandsea Beach, to Mission Bay, you can pick one of many beaches to go to in San Diego and you will surely not be disappointed!

One of the most recognizable things about San Diego is its incredible zoo. You can take a long stroll through this city-owned zoo where the plants and animals are nearly endless! You can watch elephants get a pedicure, mother, and baby pandas, and see the new koala exhibit with more koalas than any zoo outside of Australia. 5. Balboa Park
One of the largest urban green spaces in the country, Balboa Park houses the San Diego Zoo as well as various museums, and gardens, and the Rueben H occurs the first Wednesday of every month. It’s a great place to visit individually or with the family.

6. It’s Health-Promoting

There are dozens of ways to get healthy and stay healthy in San Diego. Whether you are interested in, surfing, rock climbing, biking, or hiking, San Diego has it! , biking, and by the beach are all possibilities to keep you healthy and happy.

7. Farmer’s Markets

Farmer’s Markets are everywhere. From Tuesday to Sunday, you will be able to find a farmer’s market in a new neighborhood, and they each have their own flare. Little Italy Mercado offers plenty of meats to choose from while you sip espresso. North Park and Hillcrest have a selection of delicious food trucks on Thursday and Sunday. In Ocean Beach, vendors on Wednesdays share space with live bands and llama rides: a perfect family activity.

8. The Mexican Food

It’s safe to say that the Mexican food in San Diego is extremely hard to beat. The proximity to the border means that this city is home to amazing Mexican flavor. If you consider it Mexican, San Diego is also known for its famous fish tacos. Get the best flavors of Mexico without having to make all the effort to actually go to Mexico.

9. Cost of Living

Compared to Los Angeles and the Bay Area, rent and mortgages are fairly low, which gives you a chance to get a big city and beach town experience all in one, without breaking your wallet. You also aren’t spending money on air conditioning, but instead can enjoy a constant sea breeze that will give you all of the airflow you need!

10. Cost of Happiness

Cost of happiness means the amount of money you spend in order to maintain a minimum threshold of joy in life. Think about what you spend your money on and the things you enjoy doing. These can be spending money going to the movies, to a sushi restaurant, going on vacation, trips to the mall, etc. Although residents in San Diego still go to the movies and eat fresher and cheaper sushi, there is an overabundance of free options to replace the ones that aren’t free. A day at the beach in September, Frisbee golf in November, sitting around a beach-side fire in January, and a reduced urge to vacation year-round are all examples of how the best things in life really are free.

11. Comic-Con

Whether you’re an expert nerd/marvel enthusiast or not, this unique convention can be fun for all types of people. It is also the largest comic convention in the United States! Not only do people go to this convention for comic books, but also to see their favorite childhood or current stars and see what they’re up to. Even if you’re not the type to go all out and dress up in costume, seeing the amount of effort and time that people put into their cosplay is truly a sight to see.

12. La Jolla Cove

La Jolla itself is a beautiful area in San Diego and one that never disappoints. One of the most popular places of interests is La Jolla Cove, where a beautiful stretch of wildlife preserves with crystal clear water and warm sand await you. Take the family out to La Jolla Cove and show them the tide pools and children’s beaches, or even take a kayak tour of the sea caves.

13. Gaslamp Quarter

Home to endless entertainment and nightlife venues ranging from theatres and art galleries to symphony halls and concert venues, Gaslamp Quarter is like a huge playground that you’ll never want to leave. This street really has everything you would want whether you’re interested in just taking a stroll, grabbing a bite to eat, or having a nice evening out, Gaslamp has it all! There is a great seafood restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter you should check out, too!

14. Seaport Village

Seaport Village is a perfect place to spend an afternoon strolling around. Located right on the waterfront, Seaport Village offers you. It really is. Not overly touristy or crowded, this will surely become one of your favorite places to come to!

15. Endless Opportunities

San Diego is one of the best cities in the country to launch a startup company or a small business. There are also plenty of job opportunities for everyone regardless of your education, training, or experience. It’s also a great place to raise a family. San Diego is a perfect family city with activities for the kids like going to the zoo, Legoland, Sea World, beaches, parks, museums, and plenty of sports to practice. San Diego is also home to 3 large and prestigious universities for your older children or if you need to get back on track with school. The people of San Diego are kind, considerate, and friendly, so you will easily be able to find new friends and quickly begin to feel that this city has truly become your home!
