Saturday, London (May 16, 2016): The play 'That Catholic Thing', which is presently running very successfully at the Camden People's Theatre, London, is not merely another dramatization to serve the purpose of entertainment. It is the materialization of the lifelong aspiration of a cancer patient to see one of her works being staged ad reviewed by the national media. The Sky Blue Theatre Company deserves a sincere appreciation for its attempt to respect the aspiration of a lady, who had kept up writing plays throughout her life in spite of perpetual illness.

The story at the backstage is that a lady, who is presently fighting the lethal spell of cancer. She had been a teacher by her profession, though; she had to quit the job for their prolonged and perpetual illness. For the rest of her life, she kept up writing plays, whenever getting time in between bringing up her 3 children. She had put up a good show in conceiving the plays and several of her works were published in between the covers. Though, her actual aspiration was to witness the professional production of one of her works that would get reviewed by the media at the national level.

Now with the passage of time, though unfortunate, the lady caught up cancer and while her children asked her as what would be her dream aspiration before leaving for the heavenly abode, her reply was to ski. Now, considering the fact that she was restricted to the wheelchair, it was impossible to accomplish the aspiration. Her second thought was to see her works being staged and her children and daughter in law put up a passionate work to respect her aspiration.

In the opinion of John Mitton, the founder of the Sky Blue Theatre Company and the son of the lady under discussion “it is my passionate homage to my mother, who is my best friend and creative partner. We had a very insignificant beginning; based on the help and donation we received in response to my spouse’s appeal to support our cause. It gives me pleasure that my mother’s hard hitting comedy had already completed 4 weeks of run in the theatre and still going ahead for the wonderful response we got from the audience”
