FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mumbai, India (October 15, 2014) - Over the last twenty years or so, there has been a visible trend of internationalization of education all over the world and education in India is no exception. Many international schools have sprung up in the country to accommodate the children of expatriates and to satisfy a growing interest amongst Indian families, all keen to better prepare their offspring for life in a rapidly changing global marketplace. Each of these institutions is differently accredited and has its own system of education, curriculum and training programs.

Prospective students and inspirational parents or guardians seek only the best of these international institutions, and will often look for advice or ranking from professionals. Some world leading educational magazines and review sites like ‘Education World’ review the overall performance of schools and colleges over time and rank them according to well established criteria and standards for quality and affordability. Their reports help families to find out which are the best institutions in the industry according to differing requirements and budgets, while they also help the leading institutes to get the international recognition they deserve. This month, one such school is host for The World Conference of the Alliance for International Education. École Mondiale World School in Juhu, Mumbai was recently ranked for the second consecutive year as the second best international day school in India.

The focus of the world conference is on, “Intercultural Understanding” and its message is clearly conveyed by the slogan; “Reflection, Responsibility and Action.” Participants will be able to share valuable insights, offer individual perspectives, give opinions and make suggestions for action with leading experts in the field of international education. The Principal of École Mondiale School gave an overview of the significance of the event for the benefit of the Indian Press.

“As educators, we must take responsibility, assume leadership and adopt the role of protagonists in the development of the attitudes and thinking of the next generation of learners. Every contribution is important; no matter how small it may seem, it could prove to have enormous significance.”

The biennial event will be held at École Mondiale World School in Mumbai from the 10th to 12th October. The Chairperson of the AIE, Jeff Thompson, says that they, in collaboration with École, are going to provide 75% discounts for all Indian teachers participating in the event. Thus, an Indian teacher will pay Rs.10,000 only for the event, instead of the standard Rs.40,000. This is a welcome decision, which could provide a lifetime opportunity for our most enthusiastic educators.
