New York (August 20th, 2014) – Exploring themes of racism, segregation, brotherhood, determined destiny, and the achievements of African-Americans, Black Angels Over Tuskegee is an enlightening historic and educational production that chronicles the stories of a few of the Tuskegee Airmen, the black World War II fighter pilots who successfully broke the racial barrier as the first African-American pilots in U.S. military history. Presently, one of the longest running productions Off-Broadway, originally opening in January 2010 for a two-month engagement, the show continues to sell out each week now in its 5th year. In the play, the narrative documents the lives of six men as they seek to overcome a collective struggle to debunk myths regarding their ability, intelligence, patriotism, and ultimate dreams of an inclusive society.

It stars Melvin Huffnagle, Thaddeus Daniels, Lamar Cheston, Jeantique Oriol, David Roberts, Craig Colasanti, Layon Gray, and Delano Barbosa. It is written and directed by award winning playwright Layon Gray. Black Angels Over Tuskegee, which is based on true events, is currently showcased at the Actor’s Temple Theatre at 339 W. 47th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues in New York City.
