Government Initiatives Promoting the Smart Classroom Technology

With emergence of interactive classes and implementation of digital education, the Smart Classroom industry in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 25% during 2017-2021.

 
The education system in India has improved in terms of education quality, infrastructure, education methodology, competitiveness, extra-curricular activities, etc. The Government of India is also making efforts to improvise the education system wherein the concept of smart classroom system has been introduced to bring the teacher and student together alongside the technological shift of schools from traditional concept of teaching to digital mode.

According to our latest report, “Booming Smart Class Room Market in India”, the education system in India has transformed drastically owing to the development in its infrastructure, driven by inflow of private investments. Government of India along with respective State Government has collaborated with private players to provide smart classroom solutions in government-aided schools and tribal welfare schools owing to which the Smart Classroom industry in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 25% during 2017-2021.

Government of India launched Digital India initiative to create technology based digital nation while emphasizing on introducing digital solution in the education system. The government has been working to utilize low cost hardware, internet technology and content, along with the initiatives such as National Digital Literacy Mission, Vidyanjali, and Web based School GIS, ePathshaala, etc. to make efficient use of technology and human resources.

The education councils and private players under their CSR initiatives are promoting the industry growth. For instance, Ajmer Government announced 50 government aided schools, which will have smart classrooms. Further, the Maharashtra government announced setting up 120 smart classrooms for 25,000 students across Government-aided schools and tribal welfare schools in Palghar district in Mumbai under the EkShiksha programme. Such government initiatives are supporting the education industry to enable technology based learning, which will help the smart classroom industry to grow, thus helping the country in raising the education standards and quality.
