Maniks has introduced a cost effective Heat pipe heat exchanger with flexible size and shape, light weight and high thermal conductivity. Heat transfer with the help of heat pipe heat exchangers is more efficient, even and faster than the conventional conductors (aluminum, copper) as they have very low total thermal resistance.
What is Heat pipe heat exchanger?
Heat pipe heat exchanger is a significant innovation by George Grover which is being used in numerous applications from space to handheld devices. George Grover independently developed capillary based heat pipe heat exchanger at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1963 to avoid wastage of heat energy generated in the energy conversion system.
Now a day’s Heat pipe heat exchangers have proven their crucial role in various applications in miscellaneous fields like Aerospace, Medical, Home appliances, HVAC and so on.
Working Principle
The working of a heat pipe heat exchanger is base on the principles of Thermal Conductivity and Phase Transfer. Basically heat pipe heat exchanger is a closed tube with an internal wick material and small amount of working fluid of which one end situated is in the heat generation section and other end at heat dissipation area. Heat transfer is done by high thermal conductivity and dissipation is done to desired location by using the phenomena known as “capillary action”.

Actual Working of Maniks Heat pipe heat exchanger
Maniks heat pipe heat exchanger is constructed with a wick or capillary structure, a working fluid and a vacuum sealed tube. As discussed earlier one end of the pipe is kept in the heat generating area and other end will be operating as a condensation or heat dissipation unit.

The wick structure lines the inner surface of the heat pipe heat exchanger and is saturated with the working fluid. The wick structure plays very important role to perform capillary action for heat transfer process.
When one end of the heat pipe heat exchanger is heated temperature of the liquid inside the heat pipe heat exchanger will also increases gradually and after large temperature increase it vaporizes. These vapors travel towards the colder end and carries latent heat associated heat with it. At colder end vapor dissipates all the latent heat and turns back into liquid form this liquid then travels back to heated end. This process is carried out continuously and the heat transfer takes place through a very safe effortless way.
The transfer of heat through heat pipe heat exchanger takes place very quickly with very less temperature drop over a long distance.

Why Maniks?
Maniks is a traditional supplier of electromechanical devices since last three decades. They have proven their prominence for contribution in heat pipe heat exchangers repeatedly. Maniks products are always with the best quality and performance. Following points will help us to know how Maniks heat pipe heat exchanger is a better choice.
• Provides lower operating cost
• Maintenance free and environmentally safe
• Available in custom sizes
• Long Life
• Passive operation

Benefits of a Heat pipe heat exchanger
• High conductivity effective thermal
Transfers heat over long distance with minimal temperature drop.

• Passive operation
No energy input is required to operate the heat pipe heat exchanger. There are no moving parts.

• Long life with minimum maintenance
There is nothing in heat pipe heat exchangers that wear out heat pipe heat exchangers are passive. Since there are no moving parts the only maintenance recommended is periodic cleaning

• Cost efficient
By lowering the operating temperature, these devices can increase the Mean Time between Failures for electronic assemblies. In turn this lowers the maintenance and replacement costs.
• Flexible size
Heat recovery heat pipe heat exchangers can adjusted in less space than other heat recovery systems. They can be manufactured in custom sizes to fit in user requirements.

Applications of Heat pipe heat exchanger
Heat pipe heat exchangers are used comprehensively in variety of application areas some of them are listed below
• Spacecraft
• Computer systems
• Solar thermal
• Permafrost cooling
• Cooking appliance

• Ventilations and heat recovery nuclear power conversation
