DKonn born in Chicago, DKonn is quickly becoming a name to remember in the industry. Dkonn has joined with Famous Dex, is an American rapper. who debut album Dex Meets Dexter peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200.

Desmond Taylor, better known in Hip-Hop circles as DKonn is an American artist with Caribbean roots. Born in Chicago to an American mother and a Jamaican father, Taylor had a multicultural upbringing. When asked how he ended up with the name DKonn, he states that it was a nickname given to him by family members.

His uncle had a huge influence on him growing up, which is part of the reason he became interested in music at a young age. His uncle would bring him around his old records and would often play all different types of music around him.
Taylor detailed how he came from a strict family and wasn't able to do pursue music when he first became interested. He had to do it ‘low key’ and listen to it mostly at school and during his free time. Taylor said that it was very strict at home and very depressing. Then his parents split up. His dad went back home to Jamaica while his mom stayed in an increasingly volatile Chicago neighborhood. With his father no longer an ever-present factor in his life, DKonn’s mom often relied on his grandmother to help raise him. The absence of his father became one of the first subjects he decided to explore in his music and he started to really hone his skills and take his music career seriously. After high school, DKonn left Chicago for Tampa, Florida. He soon became in his own words, ‘the man’.

He now lives between Los Angeles and Miami which helped create a new sound in Trap music. With over 33K visiting his Spotify daily and a 100kj on instagram the movement is taking him up the cgarts of multiple play list,
