Reliance Jio Launch, a Trending Conversation on Twitter

The launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm was most talked about on social media and the hashtag, ‘#CelebratingJio’ trended on Twitter India for around 14 hours.

 
The telecom venture of Reliance Industries, Reliance Jio rolled out its 4G services for employees in a mega event held on 27th December. The company is setting up the largest 4G network of the country. Many celebrities, including Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and music director A.R. Rahman were present at the launch. 1.5 lakh employees of Reliance Industries from 1,100 places across India watched the event live.

The event was most talked about on social networking sites. Exchange4media said that the buzz created by the launch was greater than a number of paid campaigns on social media in some categories. The Reliance Jio launch created 77,000 conversations on social media. The conversations also had a number of photographs and selfies from celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan andSachin Tendulkar,as well as employees of Reliance Industries.

On the social networking site, Twitter, a number of celebrities gave their comments about the event with the hashtag ‘#CelebratingJio’. For around 14 hours,‘#CelebratingJio’ was trending at the top on Twitter India, as per Trends Map’ iTrended tool. The cities of Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata poured in the maximum number of tweets. On the global charts as well, ‘#CelebratingJio’ trended for around 4 hours. The hashtag ranked 6 globally, as it was trending in 5 countries.

The official blog of Twitter India talked about the most famous campaigns of 2015. It mentioned ‘#SaluteSelfie’ campaign, which had 1 lakh tweets in a week. The most viewed sports event of the year was India’s cricket World Cup match against Pakistan. It had around 11.83 crore impressions on Twitter. ‘#CelebratingJio’ got nearly 44 crore impressions, surpassing the reach of many paid campaigns on Twitter.

[b]Reliance Jio’s Plans[/b]

Employees of Reliance Industries are enjoying 4G services since 28th December, which was also the 83rd birth anniversary of its Founder, Dhirubhai Ambani. Reliance Jio expects to have around 10 crore 4G customers by 2017.

This was a soft launch from the company. It wants to test its service and make it flawless before offering it to the general public at the commercial launch.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani said, “Jio is not about technical brute force, but to reimagine how to do things better. Jio is not about Reliance, it is about India and when it comes to India I am an eternal optimist.”

Reliance Jio will position itself as a digital content company to stand out from rival telecom operators. It will offer a number of application based services along with high-speed data.

Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, mentioned another perspective of the pan-India launch of the Reliance Jio network. She said that Reliance Jio will be creating an ecosystem to make the new generation ready to face the challenges of the world. Through Reliance Jio, the organization will offer health and educational services across the country. Ambani hopes that this will help to lessen the gap between rural and urban India.
