Shravan is also known as sravan kumar is the fifth month of Hindu calendar is a month of Hindu month. The month of shavan is most important for the entire subcontinent of India as it connected to the arrival of South- west monsoon.
For many Hindus shavan is the month of fasting. Many Hindu fast only on Mondays to the Lord Shiva and/or Tuesday to the Goodness Parvati. If people fast on Tuesday during sharav is known locally as “Mangala gauri vrat”.
There are some recipes that people use to have food during fasting period. Sitaphal basundi is sweet dessert; basundi is an Indian dessert mostly in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka. It contains milk, sugar, dry fruits, saffron, sitafal/custard apple and cardamom powder.
Using sitafal in basundi to prefer ripe and soft sitafal, deseed it manually. Keep the seed cover/skin as it is, do not mash to make pulp – it taste better as a whole. It is very popular basundi with flavor of sitaphal.
Bengali potato curry is simple a Bengali home style. This is a curry which is so delicious and easy and quick to make which contain chilies dry red chilies part for own as a fuddy de turmeric powder red chili powder.
