The State of New Jersey has licensed CNT as a center for detoxification from chemical and substance addiction problems.

CNT is leading the fight against chemical dependence, through medication assisted treatment utilizing buprenorphine, Librium and other medications. The patient is also supported by therapy, both individual and group. Ambulatory or Outpatient Detoxification addresses withdrawal symptoms and cravings through the administration of medications utilizing standard detox protocols, allowing patients to detox off of their substance of choice safely under medical supervision. CNT detoxes individuals from alcohol, benzos (Xanax, klonopin), opiates (heroin, fentanyl and pain pills) and anesthetics (ketamine). For individuals who have been on maintenance buprenorphine or Suboxone for a period of time, CNT also offers detox from these medications. All detoxification services are covered by private health insurance. Individuals wth dependence issues are empowered with tools (relapse prevention, coping skills) with which to fight addiction. Step-down and direct admits to Partial Care and IOP programs with medication management are also available.

The leading addiction expert in the country and founder of CNT, Dr. Indra Cidambi said, “Addiction affects everyone, teenagers, young adults and adults without discriminating. And addiction has negative consequences – it has the ability to destroy the life of the individual suffering from substance use disorders.” It also destroys the life of families who live in fear of losing their loved ones. CNT offers ambulatory medically monitored detox that could make all the difference in a loved one's recovery.

CNT is the first facility to offer Ambulatory Detoxification services and is a leader in the field. CNT runs a highly successful program because their clients are provided with a highly customized treatment, and the program also allows the client the space to express and process their feelings. In order to increase individualization of treatment, group sizes are kept small.

Dr. Cidambi added, “One unique feature of our detoxification program is that we offer detoxification from Buprenorphine or Suboxone and methadone when the patient is ready to get off of the maintenance dose. This is covered by private health insurance. Patients who utilized buprenorphine or Suboxone or methadone to stay sober, find it difficult to do it by themselves due to anxiety about withdrawal symptoms or a recurrence of cravings for opiates, which may lead to a relapse.” Buprenorphine or Suboxone is prescribed by physicians to help individuals addicted to heroin, pain pills or fentanyl and methadone is usually administered at clinics. For someone who has been on Suboxone for some period of time, the drug needs to be tapered slowly while supporting the patient with other medications that will address anxiety, pain or other symptoms a patient usually feels.

In general, withdrawal symptoms occur when an individual stops or dramatically reduces the amount of their drug of choice or alcohol. Without an adequately supervised withdrawal management program, sudden withdrawal can result in very severe discomfort or even seizures and death. The severity of the symptoms largely depend on the length of the period length the patient was using the drug or alcohol and the amount of use. It is always advisable to undergo detoxification under medical supervision.
