[Victoria, September 18, 2014] – Royal District Nursing Service, a home nursing and healthcare agency, offers first aid training courses that are meant to facilitate learning at all levels, and suit most ages and skill sets. Professional nursing staff delivers all of the company’s accredited training courses.
Level One and Two
RDNS explains that their first aid training comes in two levels, along with several sections. The first level covers the basics of first aid, while the second level addresses the necessary skills to respond in emergencies. Such situations include cardiac arrest to treating broken bones, both of which need immediate attention.
Training sessions usually last a full day, and only require participants to read the documents supplied by the company beforehand. RDNS hopes that everyone who participates in their training sessions will be able to do the following:
• Assess and respond to an emergency;
• Apply the relevant first aid procedures;
• Communicate information to paramedics; and
• Evaluate their performance
CPR Training
The agency offers more specific first aid training courses such as the CPR training. This course is meant for both beginners and refresher trainees. Trainees can study this course either by visiting RDNS, or by applying online with an in-person assessment by one of their experienced nursing facilitators.
CPR training is less strenuous and will only require three hours to complete. Once participants complete the course, the agency says they can expect to respond to an unconscious person, identify if CPR is needed, apply CPR, and communicate any information to paramedics.
Protecting Children
RDNS offers training courses to aid asthma and anaphylaxis. This course is best suited for people who work in schools, sporting clubs, pre-schools, and children’s groups. The agency is confident that the course will help equip participants in providing first aid response to asthma and anaphylaxis episodes.
