Duathlon is an individual endurance sport, which combines two sports modalities: athletics and cycling. On March 17, 2013 will be a Duathlon event between the regions of La Torre de Esteban Hambrán and Méntrida, both in the province of Toledo, Spain. The Paralympic Triathlon world champion Juan Antonio Rodríguez Gomez will be attending the event.
Spain, February 25, 2013 -- La Torre de Esteban Hambrán, Toledo, Spain. Duathlon is an individual endurance sport, which combines two sports modalities: athletics and cycling. It comprises these sport modalities in the following order: running, cycling and running. It has a variant that is the mountain duathlon held in unpaved roads and uses a mountain bike. It can be considered a form of triathlon and should not be confused with biathlon. In duathlon, the more physically demanding event is known as the Powerman (10 km race walk, 150 km cycling and 30 km running), like the Ironman triathlon. Duathlon takes place both on the road and in the mountains.
