The government has planned to consider grading schools as per quality, which will be judged on various factors. This will help parents to choose best CBSE schools for their children. Thus, the government of India is going to introduce a decided official quality index for those schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education mainly. The board will plan to grade schools on criteria being discussed among concerned officials.

Which CBSE Schools Will Fall Under the Grading Scanner?

The Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education revealed that a plan is underway and talked about. He said that CBSE learning schools will be accredited on focus on education and come under strict scrutiny on false claims or unfair promises, which are generally meted by many institutions. Thus, the institutions that are using the board for personal reasons will now face the hammer. There are efforts to keep in check any commercialized activities not mandated by the CBSE.

As per the sources, the officials are going to focus on the academic output of the schools than the provided infrastructure. Thus, better the academic resources and performance, higher the chances of better grades. Presently the CBSE education comprises of 18,000 schools in India, while in abroad there are about 250 such affiliated institutions. All of these will fall under the grading system. However, the function may or may not apply to the international based institutions for the moment.

What is the Directive to Improve CBSE Education System?

One of the officials of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) stated that institutions often come up with grand buildings and ask for huge sum of money by making promises, but the parents may be unaware about the charges as these get added in the fees. This is why parents must insist about breakdown of the fees, which is generally the protocol.

The parents must also try to get the same checked with CBSE learning standards or compare it with another popular institution under the affiliation. The board has also directed the schools that they must reduce any untoward commercial activity like selling uniforms and books forcibly but it must be the free choice of the parents to consider taking the products from the premises or not.

With the crack of law and regulations, many schools with false practises may now straighten up to transparency.

How Will the Grading System Work?

However, it is yet to be revealed that which grounds of academic performance or output will be taken into account while grading the CBSE education institutions. One of the ways to deduce is the grades scored by the students from the premises itself? Or perhaps the grading may only depend on the evaluation of results to particular classes like the scores in board examinations or of higher classes (VIII onwards).

Until now there are only speculations, but the official quality index will apply to all affiliated domestic CBSE schools and in future may extend to the ones linked internationally. For some institutions the grading can mean upgrading their whole education system to the much necessary adherence to the board’s instructions. The schools will definitely away further information about this peculiar and new grading protocol.
