QuickBooks support for memorizing budget reports & comparing budget with actual graph

Posted September 7, 2016 by Quickbooks24

The upper bar graph displays the variance between your real and budgeted net income for every month.

NEBRASKA, USA – 7th Sept, 2016: Seeing, a graph to compare your budget to actual performance, select Reports→Budgets→Budget vs. Actual Graph (or in QuickBooks Premier and enterprise, Reports→Budgets & Forecasts→ Budget vs. Actual Graph). It will display the differences between your budgeted and actual values in two ways:

• The upper bar graph displays the variance between your real and budgeted net income for every month. Your real net income when it exceeds the budgeted value means you would have made more money than you planned; a blue bar appears above the horizontal axis. If the real net income is less as compared to budgeted, the bar will be red & drops below the horizontal axis.

• The lower bar graph sorts customers, accounts and classes, it depends on the report that you select it after clicking “P&L by Accounts,” “P&L by Accounts and Jobs,” or “P&L by Accounts and Classes” in the report window’s button bar which are the outlying from your budgeted values (both above or below). For an instance, when you click “P&L by Accounts and Jobs,” the bars exhibit the customers and jobs which exceeded your budget by the largest amount or fell the furthest short. If a report window cannot show all the bars at the same time, in the window’s button bar, click Next Group to show the bars for the next several accounts.

Memorizing Budget Reports
When you produce a budget report, it will take so many clicks to specify the budget & layout that you want to see. Besides, when the report window opens, you surely need to click the Customize Report to alter the date range, and the columns that appear, and so on.

1. Click Memorize in the report window’s button bar, then QuickBooks opens the Memorize Report dialog box.
2. Type a name in the Name box, for the customized report, for example P&L Budget vs. Actual 2017.
3. If you wish to save the report in a special category, turn on the Save in a Memorized Report Group checkbox and then, in the drop-down list, pick the group. For instance, you might store budget reports in the Company group. If you don’t save the report to a special category, QuickBooks automatically adds it to the Memorized Report submenu.
4. Click ok for running the report, select Reports→Memorized Reports. If you didn’t save the report to a group, choose the report’s name on the Memorized Reports submenu. If you have saved it in a group, in the Memorized Reports submenu, then pick the group & then the report’s name.
