University of Maryland, Baltimore County student Camille Libdan has many dreams and plays many roles. One fundamental task performed by Camille Libdan is her work designing and creating content for a non-profit organization.

There are a number of reasons why an individual would want to perform volunteer work. If you ask seasoned volunteers what they glean from their work often times they’ll say they feel good afterwards. Rewards come from knowing they are helping someone in need or a sense of purpose they would otherwise lack. For students, volunteer work provides a plethora of social benefits, including a greater appeal to employers and administrators when applying for university.

Camille Libdan knew there were benefits of volunteer work when she signed on to help a local family-operated non-profit organization. The organization was designed with education as a focus. The family-owned non-profit organization supports and manages a grade school located in a third world country. Through the support of the organization, students get a quality of education they would never have otherwise.

Despite Camille Libdan’s experience studying abroad, she does not travel for the organization. Her role is home-based and focused on reaching out to supporters and information gatherers on the social media and networking site Facebook. Camille Libdan has seen in her short time volunteering for the non-profit how beneficial social networking can be for small organizations. Equally important to the work is the experience Camille Libdan gets through her work.

Camille Libdan is used to working as a student. She has held two retail jobs through her years as a student. Aside from her non-profit work, Camille Libdan is experienced in retail. She possesses over a year of experience working for a pharmacy retail store. Her other retail experience is in home décor. Camille Libdan has about three years’ experience working the sales floor of Pier Imports.

Camille Libdan is still developing her plans for the future. As of yet, her plans include teaching English to foreign students and translation work. For her own part, Camille Libdan has studied Spanish abroad. Camille Libdan’s non-profit work greatly helps her understand the needs of others and increases her own value of education. Camille Libdan does not yet know if her experience creating and designing for the non-profit’s Facebook page will open doors but she looks forward to any number of possible directions for now.
