Shanisha Kurani discusses what giving back means to her and talks about her donations to the Aga Khan Foundation.

Those who know Shanisha Kurani often recognize her compassionate spirit and desire to help others. Shanisha Kurani has made it her personal mission to assist those who are less fortunate. Shanisha Kurani is a leading franchise owner who has opened the doors to various successful restaurant ventures including Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut, and Dunkin Donuts. Over the past thirty years, Shanisha Kurani has expended a great deal of her resources to various charitable organizations.

Shanisha Kurani believes that everyone should find a charity they are passionate about and help fund it, she stated:

“I know that many people believe they do not have enough resources to give to charity, but I assure you that assumption is false. You do not need to be wealthy to donate to a good cause; you don’t even have to be middle-class. Giving should be viewed as a sacrifice. If you lack resources, figure out a way to make a sacrifice in your life in order to gain additional resources to contribute. I always tell people to omit their daily trip to Starbucks…and I am not just saying that because I am not a Starbucks franchise owner! Coffee, eating out, even cable television—these are all luxuries that we can go without. If you really want to donate to a charity, figure out something in your life that is a luxury that you can give up.”

Shanisha Kurani’s personal charity of choice is the Aga Khan Foundation. This organization works to improve the welfare and prospects of people in developing countries despite their gender, origin, or religion. Shanisha Kurani makes an annual donation to the foundation each year.

“I have been a long time advocate for the Aga Khan Foundation. I think what this organization is doing is amazing. They help provide the less fortunate with food, security, health, education, and access to financial services and economic opportunity. I have always had a heart for international missions, and I am happy I can contribute to this great cause,” Shanisha Kurani stated.
