Ramona Santos Ojeda is excited to announce her participation in the JB MDL Gold Star Mother’s Ruck March. Ramona Santos Ojeda is a woman with unique and diverse interests. One of those interests involves supporting her community and the men and women who fight for our country.

Ramona Santos Ojeda was recently able to sponsor an incredibly important and motivating military event known as the Gold Start Mother’s Ruck March. This event put on by the JB MDL, otherwise known as Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Ramona Santos Ojeda says that the JB MDL is a United States military facility. It is located near Trenton, New Jersey, approximately 18 miles away.

Ramona Santos Ojeda also says that the JB MDL has an interesting history, as it is actually a result of a merging of the United States Air Force’s McGuire Air Force Base, the United States Army’s Fort Dix, and the United States Navy’s Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst. Ramona Santos Ojeda says that these three facilities, which represent all of America’s fighting forces, were combined on October 1 of the year 2009.

The JB MDL Gold Star Mother’s Ruck March was held on October 12 of 2013, and Ramona Santos Ojeda was proud to have the honor of sponsoring the event. Ramona Santos Ojeda was able to sponsor the event as she is considered an Honorary Wing Commander for the 305th Air Mobility Wing. The 305th Air Mobility Wing, or the 305 AMW, is a facility of the United States Air Force. It is a strategic site, which is used for airlifts and air refueling.

The Gold Star Mother’s Ruck March event was a commemorative march that helped to honor the mothers of the men and women who gave their lives in order to protect the citizens and ideals of the United States. Ramona Santos Ojeda says, “I am incredibly proud of the sons and daughters of the United States who risk their lives to protect friends, family, and strangers alike.”

Ramona Santos Ojeda says that the Ruck March involves a 10K road march where participants haul 30 pounds of gear and equipment. Ramona Santos Ojeda says that this year, the march was completed in under an hour.
