The National Environmental Health Association began in 1937, well before Nicholas Exar had ever entered high school. As a national professional society for environmental health practitioners, its original purpose was the desire by professionals to establish a standard of excellence for this developing profession. This standard is evidence that an environmental health professional has mastered a body of knowledge, and acquired sufficient experience, to satisfactorily perform work responsibilities in the environmental health field.

Nicholas Exar greatly benefitted from his membership in the National Environmental Health Association. As a health professional and an active member, he was able to take part in events and network with fellow professionals while building a reputable and important niche in the field of science. “I loved the ability to stay in tune with what was going on and having the option to be a part of it as a member,” says Nicholas Exar.

Nicholas Exar excelled in his career in environmental science. Nicholas Exar later transitioned to the field of public health, where he would combine his unique experiences and one-of-a-kind problem solving skills to help implement community programs and save lives.

Today, Nicholas Exar is no longer an active member of the National Environmental Health Association, but he continues to enjoy consulting in the field of environmental science. A leader himself, Nicholas Exar also continues to demonstrate the qualities that the National Environmental Health Association treasures. Nicholas Exar’s qualities include: intelligence, integrity, dedication, and caring for the health of others.
