Na Xiao holds a Master of Business Administration, or MBA, in Marketing. Na Xiao has used the degree to obtain a job as an assistant professor. Na Xiao recently gathered with friends and family to celebrate the anniversary of this accomplishment.

“Getting my MBA in Marketing was a huge accomplishment. Just holding this degree has already helped me so much. It was a long and difficult process that taught me a lot about myself and a lot about determination,” Na Xiao said.

Na Xiao pursued a degree in marketing because of an interest in the field. Na Xiao has always been intrigued by a company’s ability to market a product to the public in interesting and unique ways. “I always found it incredible how effective good marketing can be. You can literally sell anything to anyone with the right marketing techniques,” said Na Xiao. “Marketing is essentially about understanding your environment and what value you are able to offer,” Na Xiao continued.

Na Xiao teaches students about the four P’s of marketing as a starting point. Na Xiao points out that the four P’s of marketing are product, price, place, and promotion. Product refers to the actual item or service you are providing to your client or customer. Price is simply the price range the product or service will be sold at. Place is the environment and location in which the product or service will be sold. And lastly, promotion is the method by which you will make your product known to potential clients. “The four P’s of marketing are the essential building blocks of the industry. I make sure to teach those from the beginning and base everything off of that,” said Na Xiao.

The celebration was held at one of Na Xiao’s friend’s apartments. Friends were invited over for a low-key dinner party in which Na Xiao’s accomplishment of an MBA was the focal point. “It was a really special night for myself. Being able to look back and see how all of my hard work paid off was really rewarding,” Na Xiao said. “I’m thankful for all the friends and family in my life.”
