ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a neuromuscular disease that negatively affects an individual’s ability to control motor functions. Because the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged from this disease, individuals suffering from this illness struggle with the inability to control body movements. Michael W LeRoy, an esteemed lawyer and compassionate member of the community, recently announced his support for the ALS Foundation and Team Gleason.

Otherwise known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” ALS is a debilitating disorder gaining attention as more celebrities and public figures, such as Steve Gleason, bring the incidence of this disease to the forefront of public awareness. Regarding his commitment to support the ALS Foundation and Team Gleason, Michael W LeRoy had this to say: “It is a privilege to show my support for such a worthwhile cause and I hope to increase community awareness about this disease.”

As a result of his compassion towards others, Michael W LeRoy has donated his time and funds to numerous local and national organizations. In addition to the ALS Foundation, Michael W LeRoy has been active in post-Katrina relief efforts in New Orleans. When asked about his decision to support the ALS Foundation, Michael W LeRoy had this to say: “The symptoms of ALS are life-changing, and I feel that we all have a duty to assist and support our neighbors and friends struggling with this illness.” As someone whose grandfather battled ALS, it is Michael W LeRoy’s hope that his support of the ALS Foundation will help make a difference in the lives of individuals living with this debilitating disease.

When not volunteering or supporting his favorite charities, Michael W LeRoy serves as the managing partner and founder of his firm, Fulmer LeRoy Albee Baumann.
