Maxwell Everson is a promising hockey player and an outstanding student

 
Maxwell Everson is a hockey player who was drafted into the Toronto Maple Leafs in the seventh round of the 2011 National Hockey League draft. He has since played for the Omaha Lancers, an amateur team in the United States Hockey League, and NCAA hockey at Harvard.

As a defenseman on the Edina High School Hornets in Edina, Minnesota, Maxwell Everson led his team to the Minnesota state hockey tournament for four straight years. Maxwell Everson was the team captain during his junior and senior years, and led the Hornets to the 2009-10 state title and two Classic Lake Conference titles. The following year Maxwell Everson was named a finalist for Mr. Hockey and was his team’s most valuable player. At the same time, he earned All-Conference and All-Metro honors. Maxwell Everson was selected to the all-tournament team at the 2010 state hockey tournament, and earned an all-conference honorable mention.

Things have only gotten better for Maxwell Everson, as he continued developing into an outstanding prospect. After being drafted as the 203 overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the of the 2011 NHL draft, he went on to join the Omaha Lancers, and later the Harvard University team. Hockey scouts are impressed with his talent. They say Maxwell Everson is a consistent player, and a steady defenseman who uses his skating ability and competitiveness to shut down opposing forwards. He still hopes to make it all the way to the Maple Leafs.

Maxwell Everson has never taken his talent and good fortune for granted. He is known as a compassionate individual with a strong social conscience. When he was in high school he was involved with Kidsight International, a charity started by his older brother Marshall. The two brothers collected old eyeglasses and distributed them to kids in developing countries. Maxwell Everson has also donated his time at Fairview Southdale Hospital, and in 2012 had an internship at Urban Homeworks, a Minneapolis charity for inner city neighborhood development. That same year Maxwell Everson worked with the Quicksilvers organization, building homes for needy families.

Maxwell Everson has worked with the Lancer organization as an executive assistant, and when he isn’t on the ice he is found studying economics. Maxwell Everson has always been an outstanding student. He earned straight A’s at Edina High, and won the Edina Scholar Athlete Award in 2011, an award given to those who graduate on A Honor roll and earn a varsity letter.

During the off-season, Maxwell Everson enjoys playing golf and traveling to Italy to visit family. He holds a dual American and Italian citizenship and is fluent in Italian.
