Jesus Zeus Salas, the Executive Vice President of Programming for Spanish Broadcasting Systems (SBS) has seen yet another success. The radio stations that Jesus Zeus Salas is in charge of have been topping the ratings in Los Angeles. According to the most recent September 2013 ratings by Arbitron, SBS station KLAX-FM (La Raza 97.9 FM), which Jesus Zeus Salas oversees, is the number one station amongst the Hispanic market. Furthermore, El Vacilon del Mandril, a show on 97.9 FM, is the number one morning show in the total market in Los Angeles.

When asked to comment on the success of both La Raza 97.9 FM and El Vacilon de Mandril, Jesus Zeus Salas stated, “I am proud to see not only that our stations are ranking at the top of the Hispanic market, but also that programs such as El Vacilon del Mandril are transcending the barriers of language and uniting the population of Los Angeles through good music.” Jesus Zeus Salas has served as Executive Vice President of Programming for Spanish Broadcasting Systems since 2010. In addition, Jesus Zeus Salas was recently instated as the FCC Compliance Officer for SBS.

The ratings, published by Arbitron in September, showed that KLAZ-FM, or La Raza 97.9 FM, was the top Spanish format radio station amongst Hispanic adults ages 18-49. In the total market of adults ages 18-49 in Los Angeles, La Raza 97.9 FM was ranked fifth out of all stations in any language. Jesus Zeus Salas presides over this station and many others as the Executive Vice President of Programming at SBS.

Furthermore, El Vacilon del Mandril was ranked as both the top Spanish format radio show for Hispanic adults ages 18-49 and the top radio show in any language in the entire market of Los Angeles for adults ages 18-49. As the number one morning radio show in Los Angeles, El Vacilon del Mandril has proudly ousted the show hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Jesus Zeus Salas was especially pleased with the number one ranking of El Vacilon del Mandril amongst the total market in Los Angeles, which shows that radio listeners value excellent music regardless of language.
