Tampa, Florida is experiencing an increase in social service demands and needs community volunteers. Well known volunteer Jerry Jaramillo calls on Tampa residents to pitch in and help out their neighbors.

The unstable economy has left many families in need of a little extra help. Sadly, citizens of Tampa are not immune to economic struggles. The need for people to help their neighbors through volunteer efforts is something that Jerry Jaramillo understands. Attorney Jaramillo has enjoyed many fulfilling years of volunteer experience and is calling on Tampa residents to help out and reap the rewards that volunteering offers.

"The benefits of volunteering are enormous, both to you, your family, and the community," says Jerry Jaramillo. While the concept of volunteering can be intimidating, it certainly doesn't have to be. If one is concerned about what to do to be a good volunteer, Jerry Jaramillo offers this advice: "the key is to find a position you would enjoy".
Volunteering can be a wonderful opportunity to explore an interest or develop a hobby all while experiencing the satisfaction of helping your community. Volunteer hours are flexible and typically organizers will accommodate any schedule. "Making the decision to start volunteering in the hardest step, because after you realize the impact you are having, you won't want to stop!" exclaims Jerry Jaramillo.

Volunteering is an activity the whole family can do together to promote unity within the family unit while showing care to others. "The satisfaction that volunteering offers is contagious," states Jerry Jaramillo. The Jaramillo family makes volunteering a family endeavor. Attorney Jaramillo, his wife, and his five children are all veteran volunteers. "There is a certain perspective you acquire when you are helping out, it is a good thing for children to see and be aware of," insists Jerry Jaramillo.

Jerry Jaramillo stresses that everyone has something to offer and that no skill should be overlooked. Helping in an after school tutoring program, walking animals at the S.P.C.A., organizing activities at a community center, or helping with housing projects are all great examples of service. "There really is something for everyone, people just need to reach out and find what fits," says Jerry Jaramillo. Finding that fit is exactly what Jerry Jaramillo hopes his friends and neighbors in Tampa are willing to do.
