After 16 years of humanitarian work in the greater Detroit area, Chad Audi has recently been accepted onto the Advisory Board at Institute of Population Health.

With an impressive career like Chad Audi’s, a promotion to the Advisory Board of the Institute of Population Health is the next logical step for further professional development. Chad Audi has been devoted to his career in human services in the greater Detroit area since 1997, when he started work at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. Chad Audi initially started in the Finance Department of DRMM, and has since worked his way up the organizational ladder. In 2005, Chad Audi was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.

The Institute of Population Health was developed after significant budget cuts across the past ten years forced the city of Detroit to rework its health department. When funding dropped from $37 million to $4.1 million, the Institute of Population Health was created to provide public health services in the city for residents in need. Although Detroit’s public health system was hit hard by these budget cuts, the Institute for Population Health has successfully developed higher quality services for residents than those in place before the funding change. The Institute for Population Health aims to improve the health conditions of Detroit residents and communities through collaboration with policy makers, application of health practices, and extensive scientific inquiry.

Chad Audi was honored to be accepted as an Advisory Board member to the Institute for Population Health, as he believes in its cause. He explains, “The goals of the Institute for Population Health are similar to the personal goals that I hold in my work at Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries: to improve conditions for Detroit residents. IPH does amazing work in the public health sector, so I was naturally very interested in joining their board.”

As an individual who seeks to help others in any capacity, joining the board at IPH has broadened the range of social issues that Chad Audi is able to impact. Although he does not work with clients face-to-face, Chad Audi explains, “It’s a great feeling knowing that I’m part of a team that is making an influence in an underfunded and overlooked area of society.”
