Wayne Hartung has been recognized for his skills in business, but it was as Vice President in his 20’s that Wayne Hartung made leaps and bounds as a business leader.

In 2013, Wayne Hartung celebrates his successful 25 year run as an entrepreneur and business owner. Remarkably, Wayne Hartung founded his commercial real estate company, Hartung Commercial Properties, when he was just 19 years old. At the time, Wayne Hartung was a university student who never realized he was embarking on a career path that would lead to awards and a position representing small businesses before Congress.

While Wayne Hartung founded his own company in 1988, it was when he was 24 years old that he was hired by a collision company in Alabama. To most people, the company would be considered a decently sized small business with five collision center locations. However, with an eye for leadership, Wayne Hartung knew he could help grow the company that employed him.

“I saw the potential to expand and in just two years time, I had been promoted to the position of Vice President,” says Wayne Hartung. When Wayne Hartung had been hired, the company was primarily local but after Wayne Hartung become Vice President, he put into action plans to rapidly expand the company.

“During my tenure as Vice President, I grew the company to 77 locations. New locations included Alabama but we expanded to various locations across the United States,” says Wayne Hartung. Within two years time, Wayne Hartung had laid the frame work for a small business in Alabama to grow to Fortune 500 status.

“I was impressed with myself and others were impressed with my skill too; I was still in my 20’s,” says Wayne Hartung. In 1998, Wayne Hartung became the President of Marshall Auto Painting and Collision and he is familiar with both the collision and commercial real estate industries.

Wayne Hartung was recognized as an expert business leader and was appointed to represent small businesses from lower Alabama by Senator Tom Delay. Wayne Hartung as a small business delegate was responsible for representing the needs and concerns of small businesses before Congress. In 2004, Wayne Hartung was the recipient of the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal, which he was awarded in recognition for his business leadership and for promoting economic growth.
