Paul Vernon, Cryptsy Chief Executive Officer, says Cryptsy expects to be around for many years to come, and that the company will be offering exchanges of U.S. dollars directly to crypto-currency in the near future.

Currently the Delray Beach, Florida company is focusing on the exchange of crypto-currency such as Bitcoin and its derivatives. In the more than year and a half since the cryptsy.com exchange opened in the spring of 2013, the company has experienced rapid growth in both its customer base and volume. Paul Vernon says Cryptsy now has more than 270,000 registered users from all around the globe, with a volume topping three hundred thousand daily trades.

Crypto-currencies, as Paul Vernon of Cryptsy has explained, are a form of currency that is tied directly to the Internet rather than to gold and banks. Excited proponents call it the world's first decentralized, free market global currency. Crypto-currencies like Bitcoin can be traded for goods or services with vendors who accept crypto-currency as payment. It is possible for Bitcoin users to send or receive any amount of money anywhere.

Paul Vernon calls Crypsty an alternative crypto-currency exchange. "We offer a server that allows users to trade one type of crypto-currency for another using an open market format." He says that Cryptsy currently services more than two hundred different types of crypto-currency, including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Peercoin, Mastercoin, Ripple, and Quark. "We provide a safe way for users to trade crypto-currency," he adds. "Since sending crypto-currency is irreversible, direct user to user trades often end with one user getting shorted. The Cryptsy system guarantees funds for both parties, since it holds the balances from each party and performs the exchange for them."

Paul Vernon of Cryptsy says that the company's main objective is to be the one place where people can trade their crypto-currency.
