Employers look to hire leaders and one of the keys people look at to determine leadership is how comfortable a person looks with themselves. Often, a person who comes across as confident but not arrogant is seen as a person ready to take on a leadership position. Neil Godbole has remained confident in his own abilities despite the career transitions he has made.
After Neil Godbole completed his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, he sought out jobs related to computer work. For a little under a year he was hired by Google as an AdWords Representative but quickly transitioned and spent a year with Calypso Technology as a software analyst. “My job was to analyze, test, and research the company’s trading software. This software is used by large banking firms across the world,” says Neil Godbole.
This opened Neil Godbole up to working as an investment advisor where he spent just shy of five years. “Trading is exhilarating and intense, but after 2008 I decided that it was again time for another career transition,” says Neil Godbole. With a past as an entrepreneur and a clear understanding of computers and finance, he took up residency at Hyde Street Studios. “I produced and recorded music for various artists in legendary Studio D,” says Neil Godbole.
“Businesses need a certain set of skills. With experience as President for a high-end homeowners association and operating my own advisory firm and hedge fund, I already had the skills to run a small business,” says Neil Godbole. And Studio D at Hyde Street turned out to be a great starting point for Neil Godbole.
“After one year and nine months, I created Airship Laboratories out of a studio space which was formally known as Bayview Studios. I took over the studio in November 2011. Neil Godbole continues to exert confidence in his work. He has many inside connections in the music industry and even his father Vishwas Godbole has composed music for the 2012 movie Dr. Ravi and Mr. Hyde, among many others. New composers and producers have come to Neil Godbole for collaborative purposes.
