Neil Godbole knows what it means to operate a business and understands providing great service is necessary for repeat business.

Neil Godbole didn’t go to school to become a music producer - he initially studied Cognitive Science. He then worked to develop and analyze trading software before he became an investment advisor and entrepreneur. After liquidating his fund in 2009, Neil Godbole turned his focus on his longtime passion for music creation.

“With a strong background in business and finance, I took over as the producer and engineer of Studio D at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco. I produced and recorded music for professional artists and for myself,” says Neil Godbole. Neil Godbole ran the studio as its resident operator until November of 2011, at which point he created his own recording studio.

“After having experienced working at a music studio full time, I again wanted to go into business entirely for myself and I knew I could do it because I ran my own company before. So I created Airship Laboratories, which was formerly known as Bayview Studios,” says Neil Godbole. The studio is located in Richmond California and features a beautiful 1100 square foot live room with tall overarching ceilings.

“There is the recording studio has 2 isolated control rooms with outboard and console-based recording equipment,” says Neil Godbole. There are also rooms for editing, content creation, and 2-channel playback. Neil Godbole makes his studio affordable to use. When working with artists who wish to record, Neil Godbole offers rates by the day or on a per project basis. “I want to work with people and not just tell them this is it,” says Neil Godbole. If artists chose the day rate, the studio runs between $250 and $300 a day based upon the services and equipment required by the artist.

Neil Godbole’s Airship Laboratories is currently focusing on offering production space and services to Producers and Bands that are looking for a longer-term tenancy. “If you are in need of an acoustically treated space with many of the amenities of a traditional recording studio, want to settle in for months at a time, and can work in a shared community with other producers and content creators, please contact us,” says Neil Godbole.

Neil Godbole offers his range of services in order to co-exist with other recording studios. Neil Godbole sees the competition among recording studios and is determined to carve out a niche for himself. He has already been credited for the 2012 album, “There and Back Again” by Cosmic Machine for his engineering work.
