Michael McCooe has spent many years as legal counsel involved in international business law. He is a thirty-year legal veteran, with over twenty of them as counsel to some of the world's biggest multinational corporations. "I have a more than twenty year track record covering over US $500 billion in business deals," he says. "I accomplish my tasks quickly, focusing primarily on outcome rather than process, thus minimizing risk, cost and market and political exposure to my clients."

These days Michael McCooe spends his free time pursuing those things that matter to him most, which includes the environment, and biological and organic farming. He is a resident of Switzerland, which is the world leader in addressing environmental issues, according to the 2014 Environmental Performance Index. But since the environment is not something that recognizes borders and boundaries drawn by humans, he knows that it is of critical importance to have all of the developed world involved when it comes to dealing with the critical environmental matters that affect us all.

As one healthy response to environmental threats, Michael McCooe is a strong advocate of organic farming. This is a term that has a specific legal definition as embodied by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements which calls it an agricultural system that protects and supports the health of the soil and ecosystems it affects and uses, as well as the people.

Michael McCooe has learned that organic farming seeks to keep and build healthy soil structure while controlling pests, diseases and weeds without using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. This is achieved through a variety of methods, including crop rotation, recycled and composted crop wastes and animal manures, increasing genetic diversity among the crops planted, and a careful use of water resources.

Michael McCooe understands that farmers use a range of different methods simultaneously, allowing them to work in conjunction with each other to achieve the best results since single technique is used to the exclusion of all others.
