Small business owner Marco Macari of Arbroath celebrates the 16th year of Marco’s on the Shore

Marco Macari of Arbroath, an owner of multiple local restaurants, recently celebrated the 16th year of his food joint Marco’s on the Shore. The popular restaurant is a destination for many local beach goers, and has a wide array of delicious yet affordable menu items.

The success of Marco Macari of Arbroath’s restaurant’s no doubt lies in his ability to efficiently run a business without cutting out quality. Marco Macari of Arbroath always orients his restaurants on first class service and customer satisfaction. “In my book, that’s the only way to run a business. You have to keep the customers happy or they won’t be coming back much longer,” said Marco Macari of Arbroath. With Marco’s on the Shore, he delivers that service with speed and efficiency. “Because we are a lunch spot, people often don’t have more than a few minutes to spend with us, so I make sure we give them everything they need in a short period of time,” continued Marco Macari of Arbroath.

The popular lunch joint offers a variety items on its menu. While known for their famous fish and chips and homemade ice cream, Marco Macari of Arbroath makes sure to offer something for everyone. Other items include burgers, hot dogs, seafood, and pizza. “It’s important to me to offer a type of place where everyone can eat. Sometimes families can find it tough to pick a place to eat out, and I want to create a happy medium. We have everything from seafood to Cajun,” said Marco Macari of Arbroath. In addition to the previously mentioned menu items, customers can look a little deeper into the menu and find Cajun wraps, Mexican wraps, and hot filled rolls.

But one of the biggest draws for Marco Macari of Arbroath is the ice cream. A few years back, he developed a few of his own recipes for a homemade ice cream, and they have been all the rave since. Two unique offerings at Marco’s on the Shore are his Smokie Ice Cream and TAYSTY Ice Cream. “Both of those have very unique ingredients, so unique that a lot of people are hesitant to try them on first glance,” said Marco Macari of Arbroath. “But once they taste them, most people come back for more.” The Smokie Ice Cream gets its name from a type of smoked haddock called an Arbroath Smokie, and the TAYSTY flavor has fish and chips and raspberries. “They are different, but I think that’s why people like them so much,” said Marco Macari of Arbroath.

In their sixteen years in business, Marco’s on the Shore has been able to establish itself as a good and reliable lunch spot. The restaurant opens its doors each day to locals and first time guests alike, with the goal of providing good food and quality service at all times. Much of the staff has been with Marco Macari of Arbroath for the entire 16 years of operation, and others for many years. Marco Macari of Arbroath is focused on providing every customer with the best eating experience possible.
