Mackenzie Parrish is proud to announce her memberships in the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars. Mackenzie has been a member of the National Society of High School Scholars since 2007, and the National Honor Society since 2008. In 2009 Mackenzie was named to the U.S. Achievement Academy’s "Who's Who in High School English".

The National Honor Society is an organization committed to recognizing outstanding students during their high school careers. Mackenzie Parrish became a member in her junior year of high school thanks to her efforts as a high achieving student. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and continues to recognize the best students in high schools around the country.

The National Society of High Scholars is another organization similar to the National Honor Society. It recognizes talented High School students. It encourages students like Mackenzie Parrish to engage in beneficial activities for themselves and their community.

Asked about her membership in the above groups for upwards of six years, Mackenzie Parrish reflected, "I was very proud to become a member in all three organizations. I believe in what they stand for; it's all about helping good students become better people. The influence these organizations had on me during high school has definitely carried through into my years at the University of Tampa."

One of the major influences in Mackenzie Parrish's memberships in the above organizations is her commitment to volunteer work and improving her community. Mackenzie Parrish has volunteered at the Safety Harbor Neighborhood Center in Safety Harbor, Florida and the Clothes to Kids organization in Clearwater, Florida. Her work at both organizations helped to improve the lives of underserved children and families in Florida.

In the future, Mackenzie Parrish is looking forward to supporting the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars so that they can continue to help promising students reach their goals and improve the world.
