Lewis Parks Berry gives God all credit for his success in life

Lewis Parks Berry spent many years associated with the United States Navy, and in the private sector where he was a successful investment adviser for Merrill Lynch. But today he has given all of that up and is a stay-at-home-dad. "I was saved by Jesus Christ after meeting my wife," he says, "and have been reborn in mind, body and spirit."

For the last seven years he has been a member of the Calvary Church, an evangelical, nondenominational church that develops authentic followers of Jesus Christ through the worship of God, Bible studies, caring for the needs of those in the community, and spreading the teachings of Christ. "I aspire to teach the Word of God, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ," says Lewis Parks Berry.

Christianity teaches that there is no more noble or cherished Christian virtue than humility, and this is something that Lewis Parks Berry is constantly striving for. "I'm a devout Christian and an imperfect man," he acknowledges. "I follow the Word of God and give the credit for all my accolades to God."

Lewis Parks Berry had a successful career in the Navy that began even before he was old enough to join. He was born to a Navy family in Yokosuka Japan and spent is earliest years there. He moved to the United States in 1974, and after excelling in high school he entered the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Upon his graduation in 1990, he received a Professional Honors Certificate for achieving the rank of Midshipman Lieutenant Commander.

He spent the next four years on active duty and was stationed in Annapolis at the Academy, and later at Subic Bay in the Philippines. He was next stationed on board the USS Frank Cable, AS-40, a submarine tender out of Charleston, South Carolina. "After being ranked #1 of 13 Supply Officers in my Division for superior performance in the discharge of my duties, I was promoted to The Nuclear Submarine Supply Assistance Team." He left the Navy in June 1994.

Lewis Parks Berry spent a number of years in the private sector before accepting Jesus Christ into his life as Lord and Savior. Lewis Parks Berry gives all credit to God, without whom he could not have achieved anything that he has undertaken.
