Volunteering, raising money and running are all activities that Kendra Linne loves to be involved in. She has organized many teams to raise money for various organizations such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) and the 7th Special Forces Group Association Jingle Bell Jog. Kendra Linne always needs to be moving, organizing, and working so these are the most productive ways for her to spend her spare time.
Most recently, Kendra Linne worked hard with her M.A.D.D. team and raised over $4,000. The team would travel to Georgia for the walk/run and Kendra Linne was so proud of how much they raised. “I could not wait to get to Georgia and surprise my team with the great shirts I had made for our walk/run. These events are so much fun as they not only help support a cause, they bring people together. I have friends who have joined me from all over the United States. It is an excuse to get together, exercise and do some good,” said Kendra Linne.
Next year Kendra Linne plans to sign up for one of the breast cancer weekend walks. She has a few friends who did it once in Boston. They walked 39 miles in two days and raised over $9,000. They were exhausted but had had such an amazing time. Kendra Linne is already thinking about who she will ask to join her on that venture.
Her favorite local event is the 7th Special Forces Group Association Jingle Bell Jog. It does not support any disease research, but it is a friendly competition amongst her colleagues. Kendra Linne always raises a few bucks for this but helps in organizing the event. She gets all the shirts designed and handles all the event logistics.
“I think I just need to be busy at all times! I have to be organizing, coordinating, etc. whether it is on a battlefield, on the military base or a charitable event. It is just what I do, and since I do it so well, everyone wants me to do it anyway!” laughs Kendra Linne.
Each year Kendra Linne plans to try out a new organization to donate her time and energy to.
