Joshua M Shields, former visiting lecturer at UW Stevens Point, is a highly professional, highly dedicated outreach forester.

Joshua Shields UW Stevens Point is responsible for providing information regarding forestry management to private, non-industrial landowners, as well as the local communities as a whole. He provides his information through demonstrations and workshops, handouts offering recommendations, and even site evaluations.

As an outreach forester, Joshua M Shields, former visiting lecturer at UW Stevens Point, provides non-industrial private forest landowners with technical advice, site evaluations, and handout recommendations pertaining to forest management as well as forest health, wildlife habitat, and other natural resource concerns.

Previously, Joshua M Shields, former visiting lecturer at UW Stevens Point, worked within the realm of bird and bat mortality studies in Sebewaing, Michigan and Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada. While employed there, he implemented sampling protocol for monitoring mortality of birds and bats after the construction of wind turbines in the habitat, identified species of birds and bats that were killed by the constructed turbines, and analyzed data while writing reports.

Joshua M Shields, former visiting lecturer at UW Stevens Point, has been well educated in environmental studies and natural resources beginning with receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the Michigan Technological University in applied ecology and environmental Science in 2004. Joshua then pursued his Master’s degree in forest ecology and management from the Michigan Technological University in 2006. In the year of 2013, he received his doctorate degree in forest biology from Purdue University. Joshua M Shields, former visiting lecturer at UW Stevens Point, has an esteemed education has made him nothing short of an expert in the fields of forestry, ecology, and natural resources.
