John Joseph Achten, an area roofing contractor, is deeply committed to Habitat for Humanity.

Many small business owners do not care about the charitable impact of their actions in the community. John Joseph Achten is not like most small business owners. In fact, John Joseph Achten knew that one of his top priorities as a small business owner would be to get involved with as many charitable and philanthropic organizations in his area as possible.

For that reason, John Joseph Achten and his business have become avid supporters of Habitat for Humanity in their area. As many people know, Habitat for Humanity is an organization that builds homes for people in need.

“As a roofing contractor and business owner, I recognize that I have a skill set that can be extremely helpful to Habitat for Humanity and other organizations like it,” John Joseph Achten recently explained to members of the press. “For that reason, it seemed incredibly logical for me and my business to work with Habitat for Humanity.”

John Joseph Achten says that his business provides materials and expertise to the charity. Although volunteers in the area donate most of the labor needed by Habitat for Humanity, John Joseph Achten knows that roofing is not something that should be trusted to amateurs. John Joseph Achten says that he sends experienced contractors out to various Habitat for Humanity builds to ensure that all volunteers are safe while they are working. Additionally, John Joseph Achten and his company instruct the volunteers on how best to build the roofs so that they will last for years to come.

“It is important to Habitat for Humanity, as well as to me personally, that we build homes that are strong enough and well constructed enough to last these families for decades,” John Joseph Achten recently said. “For that reason, it is important to me that we help the volunteer builders to build homes and roofs that will last for years and years to come.”

John Joseph Achten says that he hopes that more businesses in the area will make a commitment to Habitat for Humanity or another charitable organization in their area. John Joseph Achten believes that all small business owners have a duty and responsibility to give back to their community in whatever way they possibly can.
